Where is everyone?

It seems that people are not out and about much these days in respect to real estate.  All throughout 2010, each open house that I held was fairly active...more active than previous years.  I thought 'wow, looks like there's a new trend in real estate', at least, in my neck-of-the-woods; for I know that city realtors have always had fairly active open houses.  However, over the past month or so, that trend has been short-lived.  I'd really like to ask the question, 'why?'

What is different about the buyers or potential home-owners from earlier this year?  Anyone care to comment?

Hi Opal,  I am not sure where you live but in Ontario, we believe that people were in such a panic to buy before the HST came into effect July 1, then the market just died off.

Yes, Denise, I agree with you.  I am in Ontario...about 45 minutes north of Toronto and we certain did have a very active first 1/2 of 2010.  However, our little town was still rockin' with activity right up to mid-September and still not doing too badly through October.  Then...it all stopped...or at least slowed to a crawl.  There is such a little amount of information out there to really explain the HST...so typical of our government and their methods.
